The adventure trip started on a Tuesday evening when my girlfriend came home and told me to pack my suitcase. First I thought she was joking around but as she insisted that I pack up my stuff right now, I realized she really wasn't. The next morning we took the flight from Vienna to Dublin - picked up a car and started our little road trip through east-south and a bit west Ireland. My girlfriend planned the whole itinerary on her own, I just had the part of driving the car safely to the next stop and finding the best drone spots.
Ireland is a very small but beautifully formed country. 280 km (175 miles) wide and 486 km (300 miles) long to be exact - so you can cover a lot in 6 days. But I would also recommend to take it slow, find at least one place where you wanna stay longer than only for one night.
The first night we stayed in Kilmore Quay in a beautiful Boutique Hotel near the Hook Lighthouse. We can only recommend the hotel, a lovely hotel room, and deeeeelicious breakfast!
The second night we stayed in Killarney, in a lovely hostel and of course in a two-bed dorm. Hostels are great because they are mostly the cheapest option and you also can get to know lots of people if you want.
As I told you in the beginning, for us it was important to take it slow, even when we wanted to see lots of Ireland. We decided to stay 3 nights in Doolin, because the place for use seemed like magic. The small bed and breakfast hotel was absolutely adoring, the host Emma was such a loving soul and her homemade bread was (mhmmmm) so good! Doolin is a pretty small village near the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren. In the centre there are some lovely Irish pubs and the most important part for us was there weren't many tourists.
After staying in a quiet place for 3 days we wanted to have some city vibes again, so we decided to stay in Galway for one night. There we stayed in a 2 dorm room at Bunk Boutique Hostel, we had delicious chicken wings and burgers (sadly we can't remember the restaurant's name)
The last night before catching the aeroplane back home we stayed in Dublin. We haven't had enough time to get to discover the city but it was ok for us because the last days we made enough adventures and beautiful memories.
As little thank you for this amazing fun trip I edit a video for my girlfriend - of course, she absolutely loves it. Because of the hurry of packing, I just packed my GoPros and my FPV drone - the video below is an only GoPro filmed one.
Enjoy watching!
